ODOT announces new road closures
Staff report
The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Mahoning and Trumbull counties next week. All scheduled work is weather permitting.
MAHONING
•Interstate 76 / Interstate 80 between state Route 11 to just west of the Ohio Turnpike in Austintown and Jackson townships has various lane restrictions for pavement repairs.
•Beginning Tuesday morning and continuing through Friday morning, ramps at the following Interstate 680 interchanges in Boardman and Beaver townships will have brief nightly closures between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. for milling: state Route 164, Western Reserve Road, U.S. Route 224 and state Route 164 to the Ohio Turnpike.
Beginning Friday evening at 6 p.m., the following ramps at the I-680 and Western Reserve Road interchange in Boardman and Beaver townships will be closed through 6 a.m. June 1 for resurfacing:
•Western Reserve Road to I-680 north. The detour will be Western Reserve Road to state Route 7 to U.S. 224 to I-680 north.
•I-680 north to Western Reserve Road. The detour will be I-680 north to Route 164 to Western Reserve Road.
•Western Reserve Road to I-680 south. The detour will be Western Reserve Road to Route 164 to I-680 south.
•I-680 south to Western Reserve Road. The detour will be I-680 south to U.S. 224 to Route 7 to Western Reserve Road.
The following closures are in place through late August for a bridge deck replacement on Wick Avenue in Youngstown:
•Wick Avenue over U.S. Route 422. The northbound detour is West Rayen Avenue to Fifth Avenue to Park Avenue to Elm Street to Madison Avenue to McGuffey Road. The southbound detour is McGuffey Road to Madison Avenue to Fifth Avenue to West Rayen Avenue.
•The U.S. 422 eastbound ramp to Wick Avenue is closed. The detour is U.S. 422 eastbound to Oak Street to East Rayen Avenue.
•The U.S. 422 westbound ramp to Wick Avenue is closed. The detour is U.S. 422 westbound to Fifth Avenue to West Rayen Avenue.
TRUMBULL
•U.S. Route 62 from just south of Interstate 80 to the Pennsylvania State line in Hubbard and Brookfield townships has various lane restrictions for pavement repairs.
•Beginning June 1, state Route 7 southbound at U.S. 62 will be closed through early July for road improvements. The detour will be Chestnut Ridge Road to U.S. 62. The estimated completion date is late October.
The following restrictions are in place through late October in Howland:
•Traffic on state Route 46 southbound will not be able to turn onto East Market Street eastbound. The detour will be Route 46 south to state Route 82 east to Howland Wilson Road to East Market Street.
•Traffic on Route 46 northbound will not be able to turn onto East Market Street westbound. The detour will be Route 82 east to Howland Wilson Road to East Market Street.
•Traffic on East Market Street westbound will not be able to turn left onto Route 46 southbound. The detour will be Howland Wilson Road to Route 82 west to Route 46.
•Beginning Tuesday, state Route 193 just north of Wakefield Creek Road in Gustavus will be closed through mid-June for a culvert replacement. The detour will be state Route 87 to Route 11 to U.S. Route 322.
