BOARDMAN — Fire crews were called out early Sunday to a fire at the Shop N’ Go Food Mart on Market Street near Shields Road.

A report states the fire department received the call just after midnight of heavy smoke in the air. When crews arrived, flames could be seen inside the store and the roof was engulfed in flames.

The amount of damage inside the store is still being investigated. No one was inside the store at the time of the fire.

Boardman was assisted by the Cardinal Joint Fire District, with crews able to get the fire under control and notify Ohio Edison.
