WHAT: Board of education meeting Wednesday

PRESENT: Nick Gallo, Jessica Krumpak, Donna Shields, Kristina Merola and Michael Morris.

The board:

● Approved a three-year contract with Roosevelt Elementary Principal Eric Jones from August 2026 to July 2028. His salary will be $95,453 the first year, $97,839 the second year and $99,796 the third year.

●Entered into an agreement with the Trumbull County Educational Service Center for career navigator services at $11,985 per year for career guidance and planning for students. The contract is from March 2026 to July 2028.

● Approved 55 seniors for graduation at 10 a.m. May 24.

● Hired Jeff Studor as a technology services coordinator for the district on a three-year, 216-day contract starting July 1. His salary will be $97,179 the first year, $100,265 the second year and $103,516 the third year.

● Entered into an agreement with the Ohio Schools Council for electricity purchase agreement and an agreement for bus bids for the school district.

● Entered into an agreement with Northeast Ohio Management Information Network (NEOMIN) for managed internal broadband service.

● Announced the elementary art show will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and noon to 3 p.m. Saturday,

● Changed the next meeting to April 22.

WHAT: Village council meeting Feb. 18

PRESENT: Sean Schmidt, Kerry Reckard, John Metzinger, Brian Bosheff, Joe Sanson and Mayor Ray Lewis

ABSENT: Don Smith

Council:

• Is seeking an Ohio Department of Natural Resources grant for improvements for recreational trails at Woodland Park. KO Consulting is assisting the village in seeking the funds. The county commissioners are sending a letter of support to the village to obtain $90,000 for the recreational improvements and for resurfacing the park’s courts used for tennis, pickleball and basketball. Total project cost is $107,000 with the village’s share at $17,000.

• Accepted a $4,322 Northeast Ohio Public Energy Council grant to be placed in escrow and used for a future electrical related project in the village.

• Announced the fire department will host an open house 6 to 8 p.m. Monday to showcase the new ambulance.
