Registration will open Tuesday for People’s Law School at library
The second course of the People’s Law School, a free legal education series for the public, begins in February.
Mahoning County Prosecutor Lynn Maro, in partnership with the Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County, will present the seven-part series.
Topics will include criminal prosecution and plea bargaining; constitutional rights; misdemeanors and OVI; human trafficking; sting operations; specialty courts — foreclosures, evictions, zoning, juvenile law, wills and estates; Mahoning County governance; and Sunshine Laws.
Speakers include Maro; John Juhasz, criminal division chief; Kathi McNabb Welsh, civil division chief; Leonard Hall, assistant prosecuting attorney; Donovon Sheldon, law school graduate and legal clerk; Ohio State Highway Patrol; Judge Robert Rusu; Daniel Yozwiak, assistant prosecutor; Maj. Jeff Allen, Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office; and Judge Renee DiSalvo.
Time will be provided each evening for questions and discussion with the speakers.
People’s Law School will run 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. every Tuesday, starting Feb. 10 until March 31, at the library’s downtown location, 305 Wick Ave., Youngstown.
Registration is required and will open Tuesday on the Mahoning County Prosecutor’s Office website, https://prosecutor.mahoningcountyoh.gov/peoples-law-school/.
There will be no session on March 17.
