WHAT: Wednesday Board of Education meeting

PRESENT: Jennifer Johnson, Joseph Sturm, Gerald Dubos and Stephanie Yon and Brian Wharry

The board:

•Approved financial reports, list of bills and expenses paid, and payroll for the month of December.

•Accepted a $500 donation from the Committee to Elect Patrick Ginnetti to be used for the Math 24 Tournament.

•Accepted a donation of personal care items (to be added to the school pantry) from the Mount Carmel Ladies Club

•Accepted a $500 donation from C2 Innovations, Inc. to be used for the Math 24 Tournament.

• Accepted the retirement of Alayne Commings, fourth-grade English / Language Arts teacher.

•Approved a Memorandum of Understanding with Kent State University and Youngstown State University for the purposes of the College Credit Plus Dual Enrollment Program for the 2026-27year.

•Approved a band field trip to perform in Orlando, Florida, from March 29 to April 3, 2027.

•Approved the 2026-27 school year calendar.

•Approved the following appointments: Richard Palumbo, softball assistant coach, $2,488.32; Rob Giovanni, softball assistant coach, $2,488.32; Chris Modelski, volunteer boys track coach; Angel Laudermilt, varsity and junior varsity cheerleading coach, $2,073.60; Livia Laudermilt, varsity and junior varsity cheerleading coach, $2,073.60; Michelle Mangine, seventh and eighth-grade cheerleading coach, $2,073.60; Mia Mangine, volunteer cheerleading coach; Eric Grow, cross country coach, $3,317.76; Drew McLaughlin, varsity football coach, $8,709.12; Spiro Schialdone, girls golf coach, $1,658.88; and Vince DiMartino, boys golf coach, $1,658.88.
