WHAT: Trumbull Career & Technical Center board meeting Thursday

The board:

● Approved a five-year contract for Treasurer Cody Holecko, from August 2025 to July 2030. His salary now is $119,000.

● Accepted the retirement resignations of Robert Olesky, welding and cutting instructor with 17 years of service, effective June 1 and Cynthia Goff, guidance secretary with 40 years of service, effective July 1.

● Hired Brittany Kurtz as an English instructor, Lauryn Hamilton, Jonathan McNemar and Rachel Huighes, all as math instructors; Jonathan Ramey as career development / work based learning coordinator; Kaitlin Sterling and Amanda Force as paraprofessionals; and Jennifer Zorrosa as intervention specialist.

● Approved Lindsay Coulter as a pharmacy technician program director for the high school health science academy on a $750 stipend.

● Approved renewing under new five-year contracts Anaina Karlovic, Melissa Starkey and Jerry Gorgie as supervisors; Penny Bailey as assistant treasurer; and Laurie Markovich as executive assistant to the treasurer.

● Approved the career exploration summer enrichment program June 2 to 5 and summer manufacturing camp June 9 to 13.

● Approved overnight field trips for the SkillsUSA national competition at Georgia World Congress in Atlanta, Ga., June 23 to 28, and Ohio State Boards cosmetology exams in Grove City April 29 and 30.

● Announced the Ohio School Boards Association Northeast Ohio Region recognized board members Michele Garman of Mathews for 10 years of service; Cheryl Basista of Weathersfield, Justin Sly of Bloomfield-Mesopotamia, Ronda Bonekovic of Brookfield, Tim Gibson of LaBrae and Amie Crowder of Newton Falls, all for 20 years; and Al Haberstroh of Southington, Bonekovic and Crowder for service and training.

● Approved Mark Albani as testing administrator for the adult education department at $27 per hour; Teri Lacy as ASPIRE director at $28 per hour; and Amanda Kellar as ASPIRE office and data manager at $20 per ho● Accepted donations from Champion High School Class of 1965 for two scholarships of $1,000 each and Amie and John Crowder Scholarship of $1,000.

● Announced the National Honor Society induction ceremony will be 6 p.m. April 29.

● Announced community night 6 to 8 p.m. April 24, a ribbon cutting for the equestrian building 5:15 p,m. April 24 and high school senior completion ceremony 6:30 p.m. May 15 at Eastwood Field in Niles with a rain date of May 20.
