BOARDMAN — The school board Wednesday voted unanimously to hire Lisa Bryant as the district’s new transportation supervisor.

Bryant has more than 20 years of experience in public school transportation and is the head of transportation for Youngstown City Schools. She will replace Nick Deniakis, who is relocating after serving as Boardman’s transportation supervisor since June of 2022. Bryant will begin her new position July 1.

Over a 20-year career, Bryant has served as a bus driver and an on-board instructor in Austintown schools, an assistant supervisor of transportation in both Youngstown City and West Geauga Local Schools before her most recent position as transportation supervisor at Youngstown City Schools.

“We are very excited to welcome Lisa to Boardman. She has a wealth of experience in transportation,” said Superintendent Tim Saxton. “The last several years have been extremely challenging for school districts across the country as we navigate a national bus driver shortage, and Boardman is no exception. We are confident that Lisa’s experience will help us to find the most efficient ways to safely transport our students in the most timely manner possible.”

Bryant said she is excited to join the Boardman team.

“I look forward to working with such a professional group of drivers, bus aides, mechanics and other staff members,” Bryant said. “It won’t be long before school begins, and we want to be ready to start the year off right for all of our Spartan families.”

Starting at $2.99/week.
