Men’s Rally in the Valley set for April 27 at Stambaugh

YOUNGSTOWN — The 15th annual Men’s Rally in the Valley will begin at 8:45 a.m. April 27 at Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave., Youngstown.

The free event will begin with worship, with doors opening at 7 a.m.

Jim Ziser, one of the event organizers, said the Men’s Rally, after 13 years of taking place at the Covelli Centre, has been moved to Stambaugh Auditorium.

“I believe we hit the mark in 2023. Now the bar is set a little higher. We must present the Gospel in a manner that those who have ears may hear,” Ziser said on the Men’s Rally in the Valley website.

The event is a way of bringing men together in Christian unity for prayer, fellowship, worship and teaching.

The theme is “Better United Together.”

Among the guest speakers are:

•   Evangelist Cornell Jordan, who has been in youth ministry for more than 20 years and travels as an evangelist across America and overseas.

•   Apostle Jesse Griffin, who has traveled nationally and internationally proclaiming the Gospel and is now planning the Kingdom Reign International Ministries in Boardman.

•   Jay Williams, former Youngstown mayor, who has been serving as president of the Hartford Foundation since 2017 and is leading the Foundation’s commitment to dismantle structural racism to achieve equity and improve social and economic mobility in the local region.

•   Andy Hake, an area high school head varsity football coach with a career record of 104-25. During his tenure, Hake’s teams won seven league championships and had nine playoff appearances, including two regional appearances in 11 years.

•   Brenden Lewis, a Youngstown native, who serves on the staff at Victory Church in Lowellville as the worship and young adult pastor. He will provide his music for the event.

•  Jonathan White, who has had the opportunity to sing for many different kinds of audiences, including the Grand Ole Opry and the Bill Gaither Homecoming Concert Series. He sings a variety of music, from hymns to Southern Gospel, and contemporary to opera.
