Burnt pot cigar given to officer

AUSTINTOWN — A man is due in court Monday on charges of violating a child support driving suspension.

According to a report from Austintown Police Department, police also found James Tinker, 36, of Austintown, in possession of suspected fentanyl, cocaine and marijuana, although court records do not show any drug charges against him. Tinker was stopped by police Wednesday afternoon.

While the officer checked the status of Tinker’s license suspension at his request, the officer noticed the smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle. When the officer asked about it, Tinker handed him a burnt marijuana cigar, which led to the search revealing the bags of drugs.

The drugs have been sent to the Ohio BCI lab for testing.

Starting at $3.23/week.
