LIBERTY — A township man is in custody and his live-in girlfriend is hospitalized after a Tuesday afternoon domestic-related shooting, according to police.

The woman, 23, was found shot in the living room of the home at the corner of Ohio Trail and Haviland Drive around 1 p.m. She was taken by ambulance to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital and was in stable condition, according to police.

Investigators said her live-in boyfriend, Isaiah Garcia, 23, was arrested and taken to the Trumbull County jail on charges of felonious assault and having weapons while intoxicated. He is set to appear in Girard Municipal Court today.
