On the record – Hubbard Township

WHAT: Township trustees meeting Monday night

PRESENT: Tom Jacobs, Rick Hernandez and Fred Hanley

Trustees:

• Reconciled a grievance with the police department to allow interim Chief Greg Tarr to look into hiring three part-time police officers. He has began to conduct interviews for these officers;

• Waived the no-overtime resolution to allow Tarr to call an officer on overtime if needed in special circumstances including transporting individuals to the county jail;

• Received $500 from the Ohio Township Association Risk Management Authority for any project the trustees feel appropriate;

• Approved to allow fiscal officer Jennifer Evans to go through the budget and correct allocated items within the funds. In doing so, she is complying with the Trumbull County Auditor and also is finding ways the township can save money;

• Approved to correct the longevity pay for Vincent Bray and pay him the $545.40 he is owed. He was incorrectly paid from March 2019 through March 2020;

• Scheduled the tire dropoff event 9 a.m. to noon July 11 at the administration building;

• Approved to pave Kokomo Drive, Collar Price Road and Old Station Street;

• Authorized the fiscal officer to pay the Eastgate Regional Council of Governments $1,024.76 for the grant received last year for road paving;

• Authorized the fiscal officer to get a First National Bank credit card for a fixed amount of $5,000 in the name of Hubbard Township. She alone will be authorized to use it for township needs;

• Beginning with the June trustee meeting, the meeting time will be moved from 7 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on the second Monday of the month excluding August, as the board does not regularly meet in August;
