Man charged in connection to homicide
YOUNGSTOWN — Andre Bailey, 40, has been charged with murder and tampering with evidence in connection to the shooting death of Reynaldo Hernandez, 24, according to a Youngstown Police Department press release.
Bailey is in the Mahoning County jail and is likely to be arraigned on Friday. If convicted, he could get 15 years to life in prison.
Hernandez’s body was found Oct. 18 in Mount Hope Cemetery on Liberty Road near Wardle Avenue on Youngstown’s East Side. Youngstown police investigated and served “numerous” warrants over several days before charging Bailey on Wednesday in Youngstown Municipal Court, according to the press release and court records.
The U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitives Task Force arrested Bailey today. He was interviewed by Youngstown police and taken to the jail, the release states.
The killing is “still under active investigation, and further charges could be forthcoming,” the release states. Bailey had an address in Youngstown in 2020, according to court records.
