Fri. 11:55 a.m.: Ohio Turnpike issues winter weather travel restriction for high-profile vehicles
In an announcement earlier today, the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission issued a travel restriction across the entire 241-mile toll road for all high-profile vehicles.
The restriction comes as the turnpike prepares for an expected winter storm that will bring high winds and snow. The restriction is in place from 12 a.m. Saturday until 6 p.m.
High-profile vehicles are defined as vehicles that have a height exceeding 7 feet, 6 inches. Vehicles such as high-profile tow-behind trailers, campers, boats, enclosed trailers, commercial trucks towing an empty single 53-foot trailer, all mobile homes, office trailers and livestock trailers, along with long combination vehicles that include double-trailer combinations exceeding 90 feet in length will be banned from traveling on the Ohio Turnpike until the travel restriction expires, or is canceled.
