Mon. 9:46 a.m.: Morning fire extinguished at Hubbard Township home

HUBBARD TOWNSHIP — Smoke was blowing out the windows of a single story ranch house when firefighters arrived about 6:30 this morning.

The Eagle Joint Fire District reported that they had the fire at 7005 Pine Grove Drive SE under control by 7:07 a.m. Emergency crews cleared the scene at 8:23 a.m.

Fire officials were told there were three children that lived at the home, according to a 911 dispatch report. However, a caller said she was the only person in the home.

The street was blocked off while firefighters worked to put out the flames. Ohio Edison was called to cut the power at the house at 8:04 a.m.

Fire officials said the fire may have begun in the home’s basement. An investigation is ongoing.
