ANTIQUE STORE CHARITY EVENT: Mr. Darby’s Vintage & Antiques is celebrating its spring charity event, along with the one-year anniversary in its new location at 7386 Market St. in Boardman, 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

Twice a year, the staff and vendors at Mr. Darby’s put together an evening with food, wine, cookies and hors d’oeuvres, with the proceeds benefiting a local charity. There also will be a large basket raffle with more than 50 baskets. The charity has not yet been announced.

EASTER BASKET SIGN-UPS: Emmanuel Community Care Center, 2 N. State St., Girard, will have sign-ups for Easter baskets through March 20. Pickup will be 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. March 24. For information, call 330-545-4301.

PHOTOGRAPHY DOCUMENTARY: The Youngstown Area Jewish Film Series will show “A Feminist Lens: The Art & Activism of Photographer Joan Roth” at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane.

The 30-minute documentary focuses on five decades of Joan Roth’s pioneering photography. The event will include a mini-gallery of Roth’s work, as well as a live talkback via Zoom. Light refreshments will be served.

The event is free. Donations will be accepted at the door to help fund future films. Registration is required by Wednesday. Visit jccyoungstown.org/filmseries to register.

WRITING WORKSHOPS: Award-winning author Nancy Christie will be host two free writing workshops this month.

“Creating Memory Snapshots” will be 1:30 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Books A Go Go Bookstore, 220 W. Main St., Ravenna. Sponsored by Vista Veranda, the workshop will provide tips and techniques to compile personal recollections to share with friends and family members or as the foundation for a personal memoir.

“Jump Start Your Creativity” workshop will be 7 to 8:30 p.m. March 17 at Rocky River Public Library, 1600 Hampton Road, Rocky River.
