VALENTINE FUNDRAISER: The Friends of Fido is holding its seventh annual “love is in the air” fundraising event. From now until Feb. 14, anyone can mail $1 or more along with a valentine to Friends of Fido, P.O. Box 2963, Youngstown, OH, 44511. Donations also are accepted at Davidson’s Restaurant, 3636 Canfield Road, Youngstown. The donations primarily help the dogs receive proper medical treatment and vet bills.

OPEN HOUSE: Ursuline High School will host an open house 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. In order to adhere to social distancing guidelines, appointments are necessary. Families can register at www.ursuline.com/openhouse.

All academic departments and school organizations will prepare booths and displays for the event. Tours of the school will be available. Student artwork and a photo montage will be on display.

CURLING LEAGUE: The Jewish Community Center of Youngstown is offering a recreational curling league from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursdays from Feb. 4 through Feb. 25.

Curling, similar to shuffleboard, is played with four members on a team who compete to “curl” their stones closest to the center of the target.

League play culminates with a single elimination tournament. Prizes will be awarded. The cost is $20 for JCC members and $25 for non members. Visit jccyoungstown.org/wintercampus.

The curling lane is part of the JCC’s Winter Campus that opened to the public Jan. 7. Visit jccyoungstown.org/wintercampus to learn more about free skating and other offerings.

VACCINE CLINIC FULL: No more appointments are being accepted for Salem Regional Medical Center vaccine clinic on Thursday. The vaccine clinic’s schedule is full and at maximum capacity, based on the supply of 100 doses expected from the Ohio Department of Health.
