Photo exhibit on show in park

HIDDEN GEMS: Mill Creek MetroParks will present “Hidden Gems from the Mahoning Valley Historical Society,” which is currently on display in the Weller Gallery at Fellows Riverside Gardens. This exhibit showcases 19th and 20th century photographs from the archives of the Mahoning Valley Historical Society. These images feature snow-covered landscapes, downtown Youngstown decked for the holidays, people enjoying winter pastimes and more.

This free exhibit will be displayed 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday to Sunday through Jan. 5. A Meet the Curator session will take place 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 7 in the Weller Gallery.

LOOK NOOK ‘IN THE BAG’: The Salem Regional Medical Center Look Nook Gift Shop is hosting an “In the Bag” Purse Sale 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday and Tuesday in SRMC’s private dining room at the back of the cafeteria on the hospital’s ground floor.

Shoppers can save up to 60 percent on a large selection of brand name and designer handbags, luggage, briefcases, wallets, mini bags and small leather goods. All proceeds will go to enhancing patient care and comfort at SRMC.

PAJAMA COLLECTION: Jewish Family Services and the Akiva Academy are collecting new pajamas for the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley. The pajama drive will run through Dec. 12 at the JFC, 517 Gyspy Lane, during normal business hours. Call 330-746-7929.

PINK GAME HELPS FIGHT BREAST CANCER: Austintown Lady Falcons Soccer Team hosted a Pink Game with the team’s Booster Club raising $1,200 for Tiffany Breast Care Center. Various fundraising activities, including a basket raffle were held. All proceeds were donated to the Tiffany Breast Care Center and a check was recently presented to Anna Marie Roth, representative from the breast care center.
