Monthly casino revenue down

Highs had been set in March, April

Staff report

WARREN — Ohio’s four casinos in June experienced their second consecutive month of declining revenue after posting all-time highs back-to-back in March and April.

Revenue last month exceeded $84.7 million, about 2.4 percent less than the casinos took in for May, according to the latest data from the Ohio Casino Control Commission.

They set record revenues in consecutive months in March, $91.6 million, and in April, $92.5 million, before sliding back to $86.8 million in May.

Last month, table revenue was $25.4 million, up 3.3 percent from May, while slot revenue fell 4.7 percent to $59.2 million.

In June 2019, when casinos were closed for about half of the month due to the viral outbreak, they posted revenue of just more than $34 million. Of that, $8.3 million was from table revenue and $25.6 million from the slots.

The four casinos are JACK Cleveland Casino, Hard Rock Cincinnati Casino, Hollywood Toledo Casino and Hollywood Columbus Casino. Hollywood Columbus Casino posted the highest revenue in June at $23.2 million.
