Music ensembles give voice to peace at Blaise Parish at St. Joseph

Several ensembles will join forces for “Giving Voice to Peace VI.”

“Celebrate Light, Diversity, and Common Ground” is the theme for this year’s concert. It will feature the renowned choral work “Lux Aeterna” by Morten Lauridsen alongside a selection of other uplifting pieces that highlight the beauty of harmony and togetherness, such as “On the Common Ground” by Alice Parker and “Deep Peace” by Elaine Hagenberg.

The concert performers include the Stambaugh Chorus, Dana Chorale, Canfield Presbyterian Church Chancel Choir and the Stambaugh Festival Orchestra. The concert will be led by Hae-Jong Lee, director of Stambaugh Chorus and director of choral activities at Youngstown State University’s Dana School of Music.

The program starts at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Blaise Parish at St. Joseph Church, 4545 New Road, Austintown. A freewill offering will be collected, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the World Central Kitchen, an organization dedicated to providing meals in the wake of disasters and supporting communities in need.

Starting at $3.23/week.
