The W.D. Packard Concert Band will play a Memorial Day Remembrance/Armed Forces Day Salute concert at Packard Music Hall on Sunday.

Patriotic fare will dominate the program conducted by Galen S. Karriker. James Garber, pianist for the Packard Band and a pastor for 30 years in the Christian and Missionary Alliance, will be the narrator on “Duty, Honor, Country.” Garber will deliver Gen. Douglas MacArthur’s 1962 farewell address, which has been set to music by Harold Walters.

Joining the Packard band Sunday will be Park Avenue Brass — Joe Yaksich and Gabriella Sandy, trumpet; Victoria Ryser, French horn; Leslie Core, trombone; and Stephen Orlando. All of the musicians in the quintet also are music educators.

The group will play Jari A. Villanueva’s Fanfare, Drew R. Fennell’s “Valor and Sacrifice,” music from Michael Kamen’s score for the HBO series “Band of Brothers” and an arrangement of “America” by Todd Marchand.

A performance of “Celebration of Taps,” arranged by Jerry Brubaker, will feature U.S. Navy Musician 2nd Class Michael Barkett on trumpet.

Other selections include Michael Geisler’s “Call of Heroes,” Paul Murtha “Arlington” (accompanied by a video created by Daniel Carioti), Robert Farnon’s “Colditz” march, Rossano Galante’s “They Solemnly Served,” Luc Rodenmacher’s “Military Heroes,” Paul Anka’s “The Longest Day,” Villanueva’s “Honor with Dignity” march, Henry Fillmore’s “The U S of A Armed Forces” march, A. Eric Heukeshoven’s “Fanfare for Hope” and John Philip Sousa’s “The Stars and Stripes Forever” march.

The concert starts at 3 p.m. at the music hall, 1703 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren. Admission is free, and funding is provided by the W.D. Packard trust.

Starting at $3.23/week.
