Lit Youngstown offers live, online readings
Two Ohio Arts Council award winners will be featured at the First Wednesday Reader Series, one of two events Lit Youngstown will offer next week.
Amanda Stovicek D’Alessandro is a Cleveland poet who received the Ohio Arts Council’s 2022 individual excellence award based on her body of work. Her debut micro-chapbook, “Space Spectauclar,” was published by Ghost City Press in their 2018 Summer Micro-Chapbook Series.

Jyotsna Sreenivasan of Columbus also received an individual excellence award from the OAC in 2022. Her latest book, “These Americans,” won an Indies award from Foreword Reviews, and her stories have appeared in literary magazines and anthologies.
The program starts at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Westside Bowl, 2617 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown, in its Trophy Room, which only is accessible by stairs. Meagan Albani will provide ASL interpretation for the reading, and an open mic will follow. Admission is free.
LIt Youngstown also will celebrate the prose poem with an online event at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Nin Andrews, author of 16 poetry collections; Cassandra Atherton, coauthor of “Prose Poetry: An Introduction” and co-editor of “Anthology of Australian Prose Poetry”; Denise Duhamel, a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award; Peter Johnson, author of “While the Undertaker Sleeps: Collected and New Prose Poems,” and Gary Young, winner of the Shelley Memorial Award and the William Carlos Williams Award from the Poetry Society of America.
