A former war correspondent will speak at the Youngstown Press Club’s annual meeting and dinner at 5:30 p.m. April 18 at Stambaugh Auditorium’s Anne Christman Memorial Hall, 1000 Fifth Ave., Youngstown.

The guest speaker will be Carmen Gentile, who covered the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and other conflict for such news organizations as CBS News, USA Today and Esquire, He is the founder of Postindustrial, an independent, Pittsburgh-based multimedia outlet, and the author of “Blindsided by the Taliban.”

Tickets are $50. Reservations are due Wednesday and can be made online at youngstownpressclub.com. A portion of proceeds from all YPC events goes to the Youngstown Press Club Scholarship Fund.
