Rodeo returns to Lisbon
Hoppel’s Championship Rodeo celebrates its 40th anniversary this weekend with events at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Hoppel’s Arena, state Route 518, Lisbon. Friday’s rodeo will include a veterans night tribute and a fireworks finale. Saturday’s activities include the Silver Spurs Drill Team and an afterparty with classic country DJ Jess Roth. Rodeo clown Kyler “Bam Bam” Collins and live music by Curt Conser will be featured both days. Those attending are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets for seating. Tickets are $15 in advance and are available through Eventbrite or can be purchased at the gate for $20 for adults and $15 for children.
Millionaires’ Row tour offered
The Trumbull County Historical Society will offer a walking tour of Warren’s Millionaires’ Row at 10 a.m. July 12. Participants will see the historic homes along Mahoning Avenue NW and learn about the architecture of the house and the families who built them. The tour starts at First Presbyterian Church, 256 Mahoning Ave. NW. The cost is $15 and advance registration is required by going to trumbullcoun tyhistory.org or calling 330-394-4653.
Jewish genealogy program planned
A program on “Nuts & Bolts of Jewish Genealogy” is scheduled at 11 a.m. July 13 at the Jewish Community Center of Youngstown, 505 Gypsy Lane, as part of the J. Newman Levy lecture series. Ken Bravo, past president of the International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies and a past president of the Jewish Genealogy Society of Cleveland, will guide both beginners and experienced researchers through the process of uncovering their Jewish heritage.
The event is free and includes a meal. Advance registration is required at jccyoungstown.org/newmanlevyseries.
