Rust Belt spoofs community theater
Rust Belt Theater Company is bringing back “Forbidden Youngstown” for three performances at Club Switch.
This is the 11th time the theater has presented the musical revue, which spoofs theater culture “off off off off off Broadway.”
According to writer-director Robert Dennick Joki, “This year’s production will feature several new songs, as well as some old favorites that have not been performed in a couple of years.”
The cast includes Nicole Zayas, Lisa Torrence, Caitlyn Murphy, PK Lankford, Sarah Whitlatch, Vicci Sfikas, Heather Powell, Charity Bauer, Shelby Gossick, Alicia Wormley and Joki.
Show times are 8 p.m. Friday, Saturday and July 28 at Club Switch, 221 Belmont Ave., Youngstown.
The show will be staged on the venue’s outdoor patio performance space, weather permitting.
