Ida McKinley topic of Tyler program
The next Bites an Bits of History program will focus on former first lady Ida McKinley.
Belinda Weiss, director of the McKinley Birthplace Museum and Memorial in Niles, will talk about President William McKinley’s wife who, despite her many health issues, was relied upon by her husband for advice on matters both personal and political. Her life reflects one of tragedy because of everything she endured, but also triumph because of how she overcame those obstacles.
The program starts at noon March 16 at the Tyler History Center, 325 W. Federal St., Youngstown. Admission is free, and the programs are sponsored by the John and Loretta Hynes Foundation.
