Here are upcoming gardening events through the Ohio State University Extension Office. For more information and a complete list, contact:

Plant and Pest Clinic

You can submit your questions by calling the Mahoning County office at 330-533-5538 or emailing us at mahoningclinic@osu.edu. Please attach photos and add any information that would help research your plant and pest questions. The clinic is open April through October, Monday and Thursday 9 a.m. to noon. Walk-ins are welcome.

Morning with the Masters: Planting a Garden

WHAT: Tips on sunlight, watering, fertilizing, top soil analysis; all can lead to your best garden results ever — or at least until next year!

Veggies & More Tours

WHAT: Join OSU Extension staff and master garden volunteers to learn about growing practices, helpful tips and more. Bring a lawn chair for seating and a notepad.

Garden Art Series: Microwave Flower Press

WHAT: Join us to assemble a microwave flower press. After decorating the top tile, we’ll discuss how to dry flowers and natural materials for your crafting needs.

Morning with the Masters: Oak Tree Hotel

WHAT: Learn how this simple tree supports local wildlife and have fun matching the “guests” who frequent the oak with its “five-star accommodations.” This presentation is great for all ages!

Naturalist Series: Ohio Snakes

WHAT: Ohio is home to a diverse variety of snake species, most of which are nonvenomous and play an important role in maintaining healthy ecosystems. These snakes can be found in a range of habitats, including forests, wetlands, grasslands and even suburban areas. Join us to learn more about these legless reptiles!

WHEN: 6:30 p.m. June 17
