All about the Landscape
What: Join OSU Extension Mahoning County, Boardman Park and the Mahoning Valley Landscape and Nursery Association to learn practical tips for maintaining a healthy and attractive landscape. Extension educators and landscape professionals will demonstrate proper pruning techniques and tools, and help attendees understand when and how to prune different landscape plants. Participants also will have the opportunity to practice pruning on trees and shrubs in the park’s gardens, gaining hands-on experience with guidance from experts. Participants are encouraged to dress for outdoor conditions and bring a lawn chair if desired.
When: 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Using Herbs for Cooking
What: This is an interactive educational program led by LuAnn Duncan, family and consumer sciences educator at The Ohio State University Extension, and will feature a live cooking demonstration using fresh herbs. Participants will enjoy a tasting sample, receive educational handouts and take home an herb mix to use in their own kitchens.
When: 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday

MVLNA Spring Clinic
What: The Mahoning Valley Landscape and Nursery Association (MVLNA) spring clinic, featuring a full day of education, networking and industry updates. There will be an extensive lineup of speakers from The Ohio State University Extension and the green industry. Sessions will include a roundtable discussion on how MVLNA can better support members, along with updates on turf management, industrial vegetation control, ornamental insects and integrated pest management, and new trees and shrubs for the landscape. Attendees also will have the opportunity to explore a tradeshow featuring vendor displays and the latest industry products and services.
