MRTA TO MEET: Mahoning Retired Teachers Association will meet 11 a.m. on March 11 at Drake’s Landing, Western Reserve Road in Canfield. Lunch at 11:45, followed by a meeting presided by President Susan Harris. The Austintown Fitch Concert Choir will perform. Community service donations will be accepted for Sols of Love. PERI TO MEET: Public Employee Retirees (PERI) will have its next meeting at 10:45 a.m. March 11 at Shepherd of the Valley, 4100 N River Road, Warren. A $10 luncheon will follow the program.
Guest speaker, Jodi Roberts, outreach specialist for the Senior Medicare Patrol, will discuss how to recognize, prevent and respond to Medicare fraud and scams, as part of this federally funded initiative.
PERI meetings are open to public employee retirees and employees and provide members and guests with timely information, fellowship, and engaging programs of local interest. Members are encouraged to attend.

THE GATHERING PLACE EVENT: The Gathering Place Senior Center is hosting a free event at 11 a.m. Monday at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 550 N. Broad St., Canfield.
Risking Everything for Freedom with Traci Manning, director for the Underground Railroad, Mahoning Valley Historical Society, will highlight the region’s important influence and introduce the audience to those risking everything.

SENIOR SUPPORT: The Senior Support Action Group is a volunteer-based program providing services to homebound seniors in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties, providing monthly food boxes, transportation to medical appointments and a phone pals companionship program.
