Health guide released by Boardman grad

A Youngstown native and 2007 Boardman High School graduate recently released a free, publicly accessible health and wellness guide designed to help people better understand nutrition, stress, mental health and everyday lifestyle decisions — especially at a time when many feel overwhelmed by conflicting or unreliable health information.

Over the past two years, Gian Vacca said he developed a comprehensive full-length health book and released it in early 2025.

“From the beginning, I knew a truly free, standalone version needed to exist for the communities that shaped me. The result is ‘Holistic Health on a Budget,’ a free community edition now being shared directly with local food banks, nonprofits, and community organizations across Northeast Ohio, including the Mahoning Valley,” Vacca said.

He said this is what makes the resource distinct:

• It was created using AI tools such as ChatGPT in a transparent, ethical way to organize and clarify complex information.

• It teaches readers how to responsibly use these tools themselves for health education and reflection.

• It is completely free, with no required sign-ups, ads or sales funnel.

• It is being distributed locally as a public-service education resource through community organizations.

Vacca earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Youngstown State University in 2011 and a Master’s of Business Administration from Cleveland State University in 2015.
