The clinic continues to address questions throughout the slower winter season as needed. You can submit your questions by calling the office at 330-533-5538 or emailing us at mahoningclinic@osu.edu. Please attach photos and add any information that would help research your plant and pest questions.

ServSafe Manager Certification

What: This program provides accurate up-to-date information for all levels of employees on handling food, from receiving and storing to preparing and serving. This is a certification for those who manage food safety in restaurants, schools, hospitals and other foodservice operations.

When: 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (class and exam) Jan. 5 and 12

Where: OSU Extension-Mahoning, 490 S. Broad St., Canfield.

Cost: $200

Basic Breadmaking

What: Learn the basics of making delicious homemade yeast bread in this fun and beginner-friendly class.

When: Noon to 1:30 p.m. Jan. 13

Where: Harvesting Hope in Your Community, 230 S. 12th St., Sebring.

Cost: Free

Backyard Maple Syrup Workshop

What: Join us for a hands-on class where you’ll learn everything from tapping your trees to finishing and packaging your syrup! This workshop includes both indoor instruction and outdoor demonstrations — perfect for beginners or backyard hobbyists.

When: 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 15

Where: OSU Extension-Mahoning, 490 S. Broad St., Canfield.
