Dom Diorio, a 1995 Cardinal Mooney graduate, was hired as the team’s new coach last week.

He replaces former coach Jason Baker, who he assisted under for the last four years.

“I’m very proud of how far this program has come over the past four years with Coach Baker,” Diorio said. “He did a great job, and now it’s our turn to take it to a higher level. We want to win even more games, and go even further in the playoffs. We have a lot of talent returning, and with our newcomers, I believe we can make that happen.”

Diorio played football, ran track and was a three-year letterwinner on the basketball team.

“It is an honor to come back to your alma mater and coach,” he said. “I have so many great memories here, and we’re looking forward to creating even more in the years to come.”
