DePasquale named new Campbell hoops coach
Campbell has a new boys basketball coach, and it’s someone familiar with the program.
On Tuesday, Campbell athletic director Stacie Cepin announced the hiring of Paolo DePasquale as the new leader of the program. He was an assistant coach on former head coach Nick Canterino’s staff for the past four seasons.
During that time, the Red Devils have transformed their program.
Campbell won two district titles and three league championships, and over the last five seasons, posted a 75-48 record overall and 52-18 mark in Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference play.
Canterino left the Red Devils after a nine-year stint as Campbell’s leader to become the new head coach at Girard. The Indians hired Canterino in May after long-time head coach Craig Hannon left to become an assistant coach at Westminster College.
In addition to his time as an assistant on the hardwood, DePasquale also served as an assistant coach for the Campbell track and field program.
Prior to arriving at Campbell, DePasquale also sent three seasons as an assistant at McDonald and one year each with Struthers and Lowellville.
