Rebels’ Sutton sets school mark

Softball

Crestview’s Kaedyn Sutton broke the school’s single-game strikeout record with 17, and the Rebels’ Jensyn Seabrook drove in both of their runs in a 2-1 victory over Jackson-Milton. Sutton broke the record of 14, set by three former players.

Fitch’s Lydia Spalding and Kayla Schubert combined on a one-hit shutout of Lakeview in a 10-0, five-inning victory. Spalding struck out seven over three innings and didn’t allow a hit. Schubert fanned five over two innings.

Brookfield’s Grace Schultz struck out nine and allowed just one hit in a five-innning, 15-0 shutout of Liberty. Schultz also had three hits, while Katie Logan belted a three-run homer for the Warriors.

Baseball

Lowellville’s Ricky Palumbo tossed six scoreless innings to lead the Rockets to their first victory of the season, a 9-0 rout of Leetonia.
