¯ STRUTHERS 66, POLAND 38: STRUTHERS — The Wildcats hit 12 shots from behind the arc to get a big win over rival Poland.

Luke Barker led the team with 23 points, hitting five shots from deep. Ronnie Leonard added 10 points. Sal Shaffer and Aidan Slocum followed up with nine points each.

¯ LIBERTY 48, CRESTVIEW 34: COLUMBIANA — O’Marion Dawson had a triple-double for the Leopards in a win over Crestview.

Dawson had 10 points, 16 rebounds and 12 blocks in the win. James Davis led Liberty with 17 points.

Leading for Crestview was Drake Golden who had 16 points.

Liberty moves to 2-1 with the win.

¯ JEFFERSON 71, GIRARD 54: JEFFERSON — Girard fell into an early hole and couldn’t escape in a league loss to Jefferson.

The Falcons went up 17-10 after the first quarter and with the Indians nipping at their heels the entire time, battled them off.

Leading on the scoresheet for Girard was Thomas Cardiero who had 17 points. Gus Johnson added 12.

¯ McDONALD 65, SPRINGFIELD 62: McDONALD — Mile Culp scored nine of his 21 points in the fourth quarter as the host Blue Devils used a 21-13 scoring advantage in the quarter to pull out a win in a key early-season battle in the Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference-Scarlet Tier.

The Blue Devils improved to 7-0 overall and 3-0 in league play, as Jake Portolese poured in 27 points, including 11 in the third quarter. Eli Street added eight points.

The Tigers, who fell to 7-3 overall and 5-1 in the conference, got 19 points from Adam Wharry 15 from R.J. Smith, 13 from Alex Rothwell and 12 from Beau Brungard. They led 36-27 at halftime before getting outscored 38-26 the rest of the way.

¯ WEST BRANCH 53, SALEM 45 (OT): BELOIT — The host Warriors found some rhythm in overtime after getting outscored 30-16 in the second half of the Eastern Buckeye Conference contest.

West Branch led 27-13 at intermission but watched the Quakers get within 36-30 to begin the fourth quarter and forced overtime at 43-all.

Dru DeShields netted 18 points, Josh Gregory scored 12 and Jaxon Hendershot added 10 for West Branch, which moved to 9-3 overall.

Drew Weir led the Quakers (8-4) with 15 points.

¯ MINERAL RIDGE 69, SEBRING 65 (OT): MINERAL RIDGE — Jalen Royal-Eiland scored 22 points, Austin Governor netted 14 and Maurice Clark added 13 as the host Rams held off the Trojans in overtime.

Mineral Ride had a 16-5 first-quarter scoring advantage, but Sebring took a 24-22 lead into halftime and the game was nip-and-tuck the rest of the way. The game was tied at 41 entering the final period and at 58 heading into the extra session.

Sebring made 11 3-pointers, but the Rams made 10 and had a 13-point cushion from the free-throw line, going 19-for-28, compared to the Trojans’ 6-for-10.

¯ SOUTH RANGE 56, LAKEVIEW 45: BEAVER TOWNSHIP — The host Raiders used a 21-9 second-period scoring advantage en route to the non-league victory.

South Range was 14-for-15 from the free-throw line and made four more field goals, although each team connected on eight 3-pointers.

Mike Patrone scored 21 points and Eli Taylor scored 14 for the victors. Brendon Kilpatrick netted 21 and Nate Fox supplied 15 for the Bulldogs.

¯ LOWELLVILLE 69, WESTERN RESERVE 49: BERLIN CENTER — Five Rockets scored in double digits as the visiting Rockets strolled past the host Blue Devils.

Lowellville got 16 points from Cole Bunofsky, 13 from Anthony Lucente and 12 apiece from Brady Bunofsky and Vinny Ballone. Johnny Michaels added 10.

Ryan Gordon led the Blue Devils with 18 points and Noah Klasic added 17.
