Canfield senior Anna Kan saw her final season come to an end on Friday with a loss in the first round of the Division I girls tennis state tournament at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason.

Kan earned the state berth — her third in three seasons — with a sixth-place finish last week in the district tournament at Akron.

On Friday, she faced Ella Franz of Delaware Olentangy Berlin who won the Columbus area district. Franz won by a score of 5-7, 6-4, 6-4, then went on to lose to Tess Bucher of North Canton Hoover, 4-6, 6-2, 6-0. Bucher was the runner-up at Akron.
