AUSTINTOWN FITCH 56, MAYFIELD 39: NORTH CANTON — The Falcons recovered from a 16-13 deficit after one quarter and beat Mayfield Sunday at Walsh University. Fitch led 24-22 at halftime then pulled away with a 17-7 third quarter. Ashley Mickey scored seven of her 10 points in the third quarter and Mya McNevin scored five of her seven. Daria Williams led the Falcons with 16 points, Emma Bartlett added 10 and Chelsie Wheeler scored nine.

ELYRIA CATHOLIC 57, WARREN G. HARDING 47: NORTH CANTON — The Raiders dropped their season opener in a neutral site contest Sunday at Walsh University, despite 20 points from Kamarah Bender. Harding trailed 13-8 after one quarter, 29-21 at halftime and 38-28 after three quarters. Faith Burch added seven points and 12 rebounds for Harding and Diamond Phillips had nine points and two assists. Bender also had four steals.

BOWLING

The Austintown Fitch girls bowling team finished second on Sunday in the Wildcat Classic at Parma. Senior Rachel Hoffman led the Falcons with a 473 series.
