MASON — Canfield High School junior Anna Kan won her first match at Friday’s Division I girls tennis singles match in the round of 16 over Cincinnati St. Ursula Academy’s Elizabeth Pendergast, 6-3, 6-3.

However, Kan lost her quarterfinal match against Pickerington North’s Cassie Alcala, 6-1, 7-5, at the state tennis tournament at the Linder Family Tennis Center.

This is Kan’s second straight trip to state. She was knocked out in the round of 16 last season.
