Canfield, Struthers, Springfield are winners

¯ CANFIELD 34, CLEVELAND JFK 0: CANFIELD — The Cardinals held Cleveland JFK to 18 carries for 11 yards as Canfield dominated the Eagles.

There was continous clock in the second half.

Anthony D’Alesio had touchdown rushes for 6 and 13 yards and had a fumble recovery in the end zone to pace Canfield (4-2).

Nick Crawford and Chris Sammarone each had rushing scores as the Cardinals ran over JFK (0-6) 38 times for 276 yards.

¯ STRUTHERS 56, JEFFERSON 6: JEFFERSON — Aiden Hall was 5-of-5 for 238 yards, part of the Wildcats offensive domination over the Falcons in this Northeast-8 matchup.

Struthers (4-2, 2-1 NE-8) had 501 total yards of offense, while Jefferson was limted to 177.

The Falcons (1-5, 0-3) were limited to 60 rushing yards.

Struthers had 30 carries for 263 yards.

¯ SPRINGFIELD 49, JACKSON-MILTON 8: NEW MIDDLETOWN — Beau Brungard had three rushing scored and one passing to lead the Tigers past the Blue Jays in this Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference matchup.

Brungard had six carries for 104 yards, while adding 6-of-9 passing for 112 yards for Springfield (6-0, 3-0 MVAC).

Aaren Landis’ 25-yard run started the scoring as Jackson-Milton (3-3, 0-3) took an 8-0 lead.

¯ HUBBARD 28, LAKEVIEW 7: CORTLAND — Cameron Resetar had a rushing touchdown and two passing scores of 5 and 7 yards to Jermia Harris as the Eagles handled the Bulldogs in this Northeast-8 matchup.

Hubbard (5-1, 3-0 NE-8) held Lakeview (1-5, 0-3) to 30 carries for 45 yards.

The Eagles held the Bulldogs to 2 of 13 on third downs and 1 of 5 on fourth downs.

Resetar had 11 carries for 121 yards and a score, while T.C. Caffey added 11 carries for 111 yards and a TD.

Hubbard had three fumbles and Lakeview finally took advantage as Stephen Pavlansky found Gavin Mauger on a 40-yard strike with 3:43 left.

¯ LaBRAE 17, LIBERTY 6: LEAVITTSBURG — Aiden Stephens had more than 150 yards of offense to help the Vikings break a two-game losing streak.

Stephens had 127 yards rushing and 47 yards passing as LaBrae improved to 2-4, 1-2 All-American Conference, Blue Tier.

LaBrae’s Devin Carter had 16 carries for 115, including a 65-yard run. Carter had 10-yard TD reception from Stephens in the third quarter.

Donte Venters had a second-quarter score in the second quarter, but Daveyon Williamson led Liberty (2-4, 1-2) with 21 carries for 115 yards.

¯ MASSILLON 55, FITCH 7: AUSTINTOWN — Devin Sherwood had a 2-yard touchdown run in the first quarter to cut the Tigers lead in half, but the Falcons could not hold off one of the better Division II teams in the state.

Massillon (6-0) blanked Fitch the rest of the way.

Terrance Keyes Jr. had 15 carries for 185 yards for Massillon, while Aiden Longwell was 5-of-7 for 116 yards.

No individual stats were provided for Austintown Fitch (3-3).

¯ WESTERN RESERVE 56, SEBRING 0: BERLIN CENTER — Todd Henning put on a show on special teams during the Blue Devils’ route of the Trojans.

Henning took three punt returns of of 38, 60 and 76 yards to the house, all in the first half. He averaged 54.4 yards per return in the game.

The Western Reserve (5-1, 3-0 MVAC) receiver also caught a 48-yard score from Nick Cavoulas at the 6:05 mark in the first quarter to open the scoring.

Jimmy Mayberry added 90 yards and a touchdown on six carries, while Russ Adair scored a pair of TDs in the second half, finishing with 97 yards on two rushing attempts.
