BOYS BASKETBALL

Poland 64, Springfield 34 — Maddox Purins (13 points) and Carmine Tukalo (12) led Poland in scoring. Isaac Dyer led all scorers with 21 points for Springfield.

LaBrae 82, Crestwood 60 — LaBrae was led by Angelo Melidona, scoring 34 points. Austin Rowe also had a big night for the Vikings, scoring 20. For Crestwood Colton Mayle (21) and Angelo Dinardo (20) led the Devils in scoring.

Southern Local 68, Urban Scholars 49 — Jack Pitts had a double double, totaling 25 points and 11 rebounds to lead Southern. Jacob McCurdy added 24 points and nine rebounds. Landen Heffner also chipped in with 13 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists. The Urban Scholars were led by X’zavionn Jones with 17 points and seven rebounds, and Louis Henderson with 15 points and six rebounds.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Lakeview 57, Jefferson 16 — Makenna Doran Lee all scorers with 16 points for Lakeview. Ella Gough (12 points) and Kalyssa Werner (10) also reached double figures for the Bulldogs. Dani Furman scored 11 to lead Jefferson.

St. Joseph Academy 60, Ursuline 50 — Brook Haddad led St. Joseph with 23 points. Maizy Green led the way for Ursuline with 21 points. Carly Casey knocked down four 3-pointers for the Irish and scored 13 overall.

Western Reserve 61, Cardinal Mooney 19 — Western Reserve had two players reach the 20 point mark, led by Kylee Ramsey with 25 points. Quincy Miller was the other, scoring 20.

Marlington 43, Salem 40 — Bailee Pietz scored 11 to lead Marlington. Kadence Odey added 10 for the Dukes. For Salem, Abby Knickerbocker (11) and Maddy Andres (10) led in scoring.

Edgewood 67, South Range 42 — Faith Vencill led Edgewood with 26 points. Carly Kray added 22 points. Gwen Lowry led South Range with 20 points.

Canfield 66, Boardman 41 — A trio of Canfield players reached double figure scoring, led by Noelle Sahi with 20 points and four rebounds. Jenna Triveri added 18 points with three 3-pointers and six assists. Sofia Castronova knocked down four 3’s for 12 points for the Cardinals. Maddy Slevin (14) and Jocelyn Torres (12) led Boardman in scoring.

WRESTLING

The Howland wrestling team competed at the Joshua Hephner Memorial Tournament at Austintown Fitch High School on Saturday. The Tigers placed seventh out of 35 teams. Brayden Cortese (113 lbs.) and Aidan O’Donnell (150 lbs.) brought home second place finishes in their weight classes. At 175 lbs., Blake Culver-Shonce placed fourth. Rounding it out for the Tigers was Deacon Mock (144 lbs.) and Eddie Morrison (157 lbs.) with fifth place finishes.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Badger 61, Chalker 51 — Jack Harnett scored 20 points for Badger. Tyler McWilliams all had a big night with 18 points for the Braves. Tanner Kelson led Chalker with 14 points.

Hubbard 70, South Range 61 –Brayden Songer had a game high 30 points to lead Hubbard. Songer also knocked down three 3-pointers. Jakob Hayes added 23 points for the Eagles. For South Range, Tommy Titus led the way with 24 points. Nick Toy added 13 and Gavin Hiscox had 12.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Chalker 55, Badger 38 — Abby Grimm scored 25 points, including three 3-pointers for Chalker. Tatum Hudak added 13 for the Wildcats. Brinley Rice led Badger with 14 points.

LaBrae 58, Southeast 29 — Ella Kuszmaul led LaBrae with 18 points, including five 3-pointers. Riley Rowe added 13 points and Ally Magoulick (11) and Angel Scruggs) also reached double figure scoring for the Vikings.

Mineral Ridge 60, Campbell 10 –Sullivan Sandy led the Mineral Ridge offense with 18 points. The Rams also got 12 points from Gianna Gilbert and 10 from Kelcee Dye.
