GIRLS BASKETBALL

Waterloo 48, Springfield 42 – In a back-and-forth affair, the Vikings came out on top Monday night. Madison Lesnak scored 11 points to lead the Tigers while Kajra English scored 20 to lead Waterloo. Rosa Counts also added 17.

South Range 41, Girard 35 – Lexi Giles scored 19 points to lead the Raiders (9-4, 7-1) to a six-point victory over Girard (6-5, 3-5) Monday night. Mia Malito, Allison Durkin and Abbie Raffery all scored eight points to lead the Indians.

Ursuline 44, Heartland Christian 6 – Lily Scott scored 11 points and Meredith Grey added 8 as the Fighting Irish (4-7) earned a commanding victory over the Lions (2-13).

Lowellville 56, Mineral Ridge 53 – Ava Hulett scored a game-high 24 points for the Rams, but it wasn’t quite enough as the Rockets (5-6) held on for a close victory Monday night. Samantha Moore scored 15 points for Lowellville and Savannah Procick added 14.

Western Reserve 43, Jackson-Milton 37 – Brooke Schantz scored a game-high 17 points to lead the Blue Devils to a big victory over Jackson-Milton. Ava Darney scored 14 points and Chelsea Williams added 12 for the Blue Jays.

Poland 58, Hubbard 30 – The Bulldogs pulled out to a 17 point lead and never looked back Monday night as they cruised to a 28-point victory. Connie Cougras scored 15 points to lead Poland and Katie McDonald added 10.

Liberty 65, Champion 35 – The Leopards continued their undefeated season Monday night with a lopsided victory over the Golden Flashes. They were led by the duo of Aaliyah Foster and Demi Watson who combined for 49 points. Isabella Meyer scored a team-high 17 points for Champion.

Bristol 66, Badger 29 – Belle Zirzow continued her tremendous season with a 22-point performance against the Braves Monday night. The Panthers held Badger to six points in the second half.

Garfield 48, Brookfield 44 – Despite a 25-point performance from Brookfield’s Sophia Hook, Garfield held off a late charge by the Warriors to earn a 4-point victory Monday night. Jenna Smith led Garfield with 16 points and Sarah Seamau also added 12 points while Madaline Shirkey scored 11.

Warren JFK 42, Mathews 35 – Trailing by 5 at the end of the first quarter, the Eagles limited the Mustangs to just two points in the second half and held them off late to earn a 7-point victory. Isabella Mauro led the way with 13 points and Kennedy Caldwell scored 10. Bella Greenwood scored a team-high 9 points for Mathews.

Struthers 51, Niles 27 – Faith Stellato hit four 3-pointers and scored a team-high 14 points for the Wildcats to lead them to a convincing victory over the Red Dragons. Alaina Thigpen led Niles with 8 points.

Crestview 53, LaBrae 42 – Luvrain Gaskins scored a game-high 22 points to lead the Rebels past the Vikings Monday night. Laura McCoy led the Vikings with 21 points in the loss. Emily Downey also scored 12 points for Crestview.

Howland 68, Harding 32 – The Tigers celebrated their senior night in a big way by knocking off Harding in dominant fashion. Alyssa Pompelia led the way, scoring 28 points while Jamie DeSalvo, Kylie McClain, and Alyssa Massucci each added 9.
