DEAR EDITOR: For 16 years the EPA Endangerment Finding helped protect our environment and our heath and was an important tool in fighting climate change. The “endangerment finding” is the EPA’s scientific and legal conclusion that the Clean Air Act requires regulation of greenhouse gas emissions to protect public health and welfare. The EPA issued the finding in the Supreme Court’s 2009 Massachusetts v. EPA decision. But the Trump EPA has revoked the endangerment finding, which endangers us all. Engler is seeking to stop abortions in Ohio through a lawsuit he filed with the Ohio Supreme Court contending the 2023 reproductive rights constitutional amendment does not provide protections for minors.
