DEAR EDITOR: The recent announcement by Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy to modernize air traffic control is a promising plan to solve critical safety and infrastructure issues throughout the country. In the Mahoning Valley, aviation is more than a means of travel — it’s a key driver of our regional economy. DEAR EDITOR: On June 26, The Vindicator ran an article about the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices known as ACIP. ACIP advises the CDC on the vaccines children and adults should take and when. Recently, HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. fired all 17 members of the committee because they all had conflicts of interests. He accused the committee of just being a rubber stamp for the pharmaceutical industry approving anything put before them. DEAR EDITOR: My husband and I are searching the internet for someplace cheaper to live.Property tax, water rates, income tax, sales tax here in the Mahoning valley are not as cheap as some believe they are. Googling “cheapest states to live 2025.” Ohio is not even in the top 15. With Chat GPT Open AI, Ohio is not in the top 20! DEAR EDITOR: It’s hilarious to me that people blame Trump for trying to erode our democracy. Let me inform you — it’s already gone. You see those “Flock” cameras all over Ohio and Pennsylvania? Yes, those were paid for by mostly Democratic-controlled townships and municipalities. And yes, a federal lawsuit against Flock is ongoing.
