The shiny newsletter we just received from Mahoning County gives the following confusing statement: “Ohio law prevents automatic tax increases when property values rise, keeping levy collection steady.” In 2024, my real estate tax bill increased $557 from 2023 due to the property revaluation. Correct infrastructure problems in county

DEAR EDITOR: The recent infrastructure failures at the Trumbull County jail are symptomatic of a larger, countywide problem. Those boiler, roofing and plumbing issues should never have progressed to the point of failure. Mr. Dunnigan has made a start in checking the roofs on several county buildings. But this is an effort that must expand to plumbing, HVAC, parking lots, electrical, etc. on all buildings. DEAR EDITOR: I am deeply concerned by the recent allegations involving a few members of the Ursuline High School football team. Since these reports surfaced, additional stories of bullying and violence have come to light. Unfortunately, many have already judged the accused in the court of public opinion, denying them the opportunity to defend themselves before a judge. DEAR EDITOR: On Dec. 2, 2025, The Vindicator printed an editorial by Victor David Hanson, titled, “Can the ‘Lost Generation’ ever be found?” It is about Americans born between 1997 and 2012, now between 13 and 28 years old. I believe Professor Hanson is too conservative in his observation; we have several lost generations. Lost due to misdirected educations, not focusing on the “three Rs,” as previous eras were taught. DEAR EDITOR: I’m writing in response to a letter to the editor on 11-29. It seems the writer is offended by the “old and boring” letters to the editors by repeat writers concerning Donald Trump.
