DEAR EDITOR:

There is hope for Ohio right now. Our hope comes in the emerging leadership of Dr. Amy Acton, who is campaigning to be our next governor. She has pulled even in the polls for Ohio’s next governor running against a billionaire who, along with his buddy Elon Musk, destroyed hundreds of thousands of lives through his work on DOGE only to quit that job to become the frontrunner for the Republicans in the race for governor.

Then there is Dr. Acton. Living in 18 places in a 12-year period of her life, including in a tent in Youngstown one winter, and rising out of homelessness and poverty, Dr. Acton has dedicated her life to serving Ohio through medicine and particularly as a public health doctor. She is someone who cares for the health and welfare of all Ohioans.

In my book, “The Genius of Justice,” I shared my discovery that Dr. Acton is a true genius of justice. She listens to people. She is present with them in their pain and suffering. She is one of the most compassionate and empathic persons I know. She believes in people doing the right thing for their fellow human beings. But, she is no one’s fool. She is fearless in facing the tough decisions that leaders need to make and she rises to lead creatively in crisis situations.

Less than 360 days remain until the 2026 election for Ohio’s next governor. I encourage you to take time NOW to get to know Amy Acton. You will be pleased and filled with hope when you discover all her gifts to serve us. She will be a great governor for Ohio.
