An invitation to enjoy 85th WCMA season
DEAR EDITOR:
I truly enjoyed reading the editorial in the Tribune, entitled “Ohio is the Heart of it all,” dated June 25, 2025.
You are so right that Ohio has an impressive record of interesting and wallet-friendly attractions, a bonus for all who are in search of a place to enjoy unique, pleasant, inexpensive experiences.
Born and raised in Warren, a subscriber and avid reader, the Tribune is and continues to be an integral part of each day attempting to open and shape our every thought, word and deed. In fact, many years ago a favorite of mine former Tribune Editor Susan Svihlik, offered a column entitled “Writing What’s Right,” where interested parties could express their “Positivity” by spreading “Good News” of events and experiences happening in our community that made us smite and appreciate the perks of living and enjoying our own backyard.
Fondly remembering this upbeat column, plus your recent editorial qualifying the same, I hope to capitalize on my own enthusiasm for “Good News,” as the Warren Civic Music Association, one of only many unique, pleasant and inexpensive happenings in Warren.
As music has always held a very special place in our lives, forming an integral part of human culture for centuries, what better way to build a sense of community that connects us to one another than through music.
Since 1940, WCMA, one of the oldest arts organizations in Ohio, and the oldest in Trumbull County, has strived to engage our community and enrich our audiences in the arts, with the annual concert series held at Packard Music Hall.
As a member of the non-profit, all-volunteer organization, I hope to add a smile to our community by extending a special invitation to the upcoming 85th anniversary Season scheduled from September 2025 to May 2026.
With a shared focus on engaging communities and enriching the lives of those within them, WCMA is collaborating with America 250-Ohio, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776, in addition to focusing on Ohio’s contributions made in the arts.
With this season’s variety of world-class talents, we are especially proud to showcase and celebrate the 30-piece SoundScape Symphony, the region’s finest instrumentalists and vocalists, all coming together on one stage in a home-grown musical spectacular.
In “Writing What’s Right” and spreading “Good News,” I hope my spirit of enthusiasm is contagious as WCMA welcomes back our longtime supporters with hopes to also attract new members to our audience, as there is something for everyone to enjoy in the incredible performances planned for this season.
Music enthusiasts may check out WarrenCivicMusic.com for additional information and a video preview and get your tickets at Packard Music Hall box office. I can assure you will not be disappointed!
