Local favorite is now commercialized

DEAR EDITOR:

Growing up in Canfield, White House Fruit Farm was a local favorite.

My first job, weekends out with family and friends. Lots of good memories. I am sad to observe it has turned so commercial as evidenced with the latest and greatest, “Walk in the Tulips.”

I was all for this, until I looked online and realized that it was taken by reservations, for $15 a person.

My heart dropped. For that price I could take a family of four to a Scrappers baseball game or a movie and still have money in my pocket. And those venues would last two to three hours. Seriously, how long are you going to walk around in a field of tulips? Perhaps 20 minutes?

White House Fruit Farm has turned into an industrial complex with overpriced goods and and an experience that is less than par.

Please choose some other local venues in the area that offer fresh produce and flowers and vegetables for planting that are much more reasonable and quaint. Preserving what local vendors should be.
