DEAR EDITOR:

As early election results were being released, Donald Trump was busy on social media claiming election cheating against him. All those claims totally evaporated by his win. Not one word of election interference has been uttered by anyone since. This transparent ploy to sow election lies worked beautifully for Trump.

This lie along with the big lie that the election was stolen from Trump in 2020 validates our society’s embrace of lying and cheating to win power. So be it! Disgusting as it is, this is our United States of America.

When this paper published that Youngstown city and Campbell were the only municipalities that retained their Democratic roots and voted for Harris / Walz, I was very proud to say that I am from one of the only two communities who protected democracy and truth over lies.

Time will reveal the real truth of this election outcome. The bumpy ride is about to begin.
