Trump presidency cost 220,000 American lives
DEAR EDITOR:
Donald Trump’s incompetence in 2020 compared with Canada’s leader Justin Trudeau caused approximately 220,000 needless deaths from COVID-19. Some 350,000 Americans died in 2020 from COVID compared to fewer than 15,000 in Canada. The U.S. population of 330,000,000 in 2020 was 8.7 times the 38,000,000 population of Canada. Multiply 15,000 by 8.7 and you get 130,500. That’s what the U.S. COVID-19 death toll under Trump should have been. Instead it was 350,000. That’s about 220,000 needless deaths because we elected a narcissistic, incompetent TV game-show host as president. Don’t do it again.
