DEAR EDITOR:

I have been to many Mill Creek MetroParks meetings, but the recent one was beyond belief.

I do belong to Save the Mill Creek Park Deer group, and I don’t hug trees. I am still in shock at how they treated this sweet and beautiful elderly lady. She was very eloquent and she sat right next to me …Turns out her name was Mrs. Whitehouse. I almost fell out of my chair. Her husband was Mill Creek Park because you just couldn’t say one without the other.

The 21 News Crew was there “until” the people were to speak, then they hurried out the door. Good job 21! This beautiful lady got up to speak so endearingly about her husband, who was the best naturalist ever. If you spoke of Mill Creek Park, you thought of Mr. Whitehouse, if you spoke of Mr. Whitehouse, you thought of Mill Creek. He was involved with the park for 62 years, most of the time as our naturalist. She went on to talk about his life and what he loved and achieved, but most importantly she spoke of it was his choice to pass. With heartfelt words, she said he was happy but was not happy with the changes happening (we knew what she meant ). Out of the silence came a voice, “You have 15 more seconds.”

I have never seen such ignorance and disrespect in my life. Had the media stayed, they would’ve had better manners because they like to put on shows. The public never gets to see their true selves. My heart is so crushed that a man and his wife who did so much for the park I love were so disrespected last night, Mr. and Mrs. Whitehouse.

This board is so autocratic in everything it does. It is phony as can be. All of our money goes to these pretentious non-civilized, arrogant people who should NOT be in charge of our Mill Creek Park. Evil encompasses that boardroom just stepping into it. Wake up people, come to these meetings, see what I see and hear what they do before you donate money. Mill Creek Park is becoming “Dictatorial Haven.”

Sorry the media left; this would’ve been a good story. When I just got there the media told me clips of the entire meeting were going to be filmed, because I asked. Oh my, but of course they left right before public speaking. They keep their secrets well, hide the truth by untruthfulness, destroying our park and killing all deer families soon at the end of this month. Is this what we want?

My poor grandchildren, they will never know what happiness we had with Mr. Whitehouse basically running the show and all of the joy and family enjoyment.
