Leaders must make decorum, respectful discourse priority

DEAR EDITOR:

I am writing to express my deep concern about the unprofessional conduct that has become commonplace at the weekly commissioner meetings. Public time, designated for constructive dialogue regarding “the good of Trumbull County,” is being misused for berating commissioners. This behavior, unfortunately, includes the president of the board as well.

Public meetings serve as a vital platform for transparent communication between the commissioners and their constituents. When these meetings are used for grandstanding or pushing personal agendas, it undermines the very purpose they are intended to serve.

I urge the board to prioritize decorum and respectful discourse during meetings. Commissioners should focus on addressing the issues facing Trumbull County and avoid turning these meetings into a forum for personal attacks.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
